Progress! I figured out how to deal with the face so I am able to capture changing expressions. I made two masks and put together some sequences showing the figure placing the mask on her face and filmed various expressions. These changes in expression will be edited to show how the figure is responding to the creatures. The green screen is working. I made a sequence with the hand grabbing, then holing the creatures. I am playing around with bringing myself into the video, either through wearing a mask or showing my hands interacting with the small creatures. I solved another problem. The large figure is hard to move and stabilize so I made a smaller replica puppet with a good wire armature inside. I made mini masks for this puppet as well so now I can animate the figure walking and sitting and crawling. Wednesday I have scheduled three hours in the De Anza film studio to do some green screen with both large and small puppets. Lastly I made a miniature version of the pelvis so I can easily move it around when it comes time for the pelvis to leave the body. Now that things are starting to progress I have a better sense of the shots I would like to complete before the end of this quarter, leaving time to add some sound and the narrative. I have updated the shot list on the asset list and milestone chart.
