"To be a flower is a profound responsibility" is a famous line from Emily Dickinson's poetry shared by Jenni as a prompt to consider for the week.  Responsibility, duty, a call to grow, bloom, transform, beautify, to be resilient, and cultivate wonder and joy in a world that a times feels disturbing.

Today I worked in the garage and took a run to the dump.  Wow the dump.  Nothing brings home the absurdity of our Western consumption that the dump.  It was so strange to see my pile of discarded treasure, paintings journals, letters and a plaster torso of my body, get bulldozed into the ground. I tried to take some video but did not press record! That happens to me alot when I get excited.  Heading home I felt more free and lighter. I am so grateful to have access to a functioning dump.

In response to the prompt I tried to draw a lotus and an egg together… both holders of tremendous duty. I rushed it and meh. Then I cut it out and photographed it on one of Jan's paintings.  She was so talented with the landscapes.
