Trouble Focusing

Today I could not focus the camera while shooting the longer sequence for the rotating heart. Very frustrating. I figured out the camera needed to be closer but then my window on Dragon Frame was too close in.....Hey just now I realize I can adjust the zoom on my actual camera!!! Okay I will give that a try tomorrow. This all seems like fairly basic camera stuff but I don't have the basis down yet, a downside from years of letting the I-phone figure things out.

Below is a link to the blurry stuff I shot today. This sequence has 30 out of the 60 hearts. I ended up photocopying some heart drawing directly on the silk tissue paper, then cut out the heart shape. I was able to make 12 out of 60. I included the 12 in the cycle to see how they look. Not sure if the gray background works with the silk hearts. Its hard to really see how it is going to look with only 12 pictures.

This morning I did a second print on top of yesterdays prints. The colors are starting to pop but of course the black lines are getting fuzzy because I did not do exactly the same register. Does any of this art stuff make sense to the reader?

Anyway. Let's see. What else.

I started working on the thesis paper. I wrote a bit and located my Glissant notes. Tomorrow I will focus on creating my bibliography.

It is raining. Glad about that. Guillermo has been low energy for many days. I wonder if he is depressed. Oh and someone from a Menlo Park newspaper wants to interview me about the films that will show in the student film festival.

That's it for now. Night!
