Thoughtful Questions

The free form drawing above was enjoyable to make. I let my intuition guide the pattern. Wherever I found two lines that intersected I connected it to a point on a line and drew a line to connect the two. This action made more crossed lines and more places for points to connect to crossings. Its hard to explain in words. I think it could have continued on an on.
Today’s pendulum question was, “What part of my body needs support.” I discovered today it is difficult to think of a good question. The process of deciding on a question is turning out to be an important part of the work. It reminded me of the following quote.
“The ability to ask beautiful questions, often in very un-beautiful moments, is one of the great disciplines of a human life. And a beautiful question starts to shape your identity as much by asking it, as it does by having it answered. You just have to keep asking. And before you know it, you will find yourself actually shaping a different life, meeting different people, finding conversations that are leading you in those directions that you wouldn’t even have seen before.” -David Whyte
When I look at the pendulum drawing my mind thinks of the muscles in the pelvic floor. This whole process is a great exercise in letting myself be in the unknown and following sudden glimpses of insight and saying yes!
