Tenacity

I spent three days drawing lines inspired by Lenore Tawney. At the end of the workshop we gathered to look at each others work and I heard the words “ calm tenacity and presence in the line". This mirroring resonated and it captured what pulls me to Lenore Tawney's sculptures and drawings. When I look at her work I feel her singular attention on the material, a conversation and an arrival.
The workshop was a positive experience. I imagine I will continue studying and reading about her over the next few days and return to her work often for inspiration. The idea of researching an artist is also something I really found useful and will defiantly do again.
Below is a collage of the drawings from this weekend.
