Shoulder

I started weight training and I have been to three lessons- invitations-stimulations. I think of the expeerience as a lesson in movement and an invitation to use my body in a more anotomically efficiant way. Jenny, the trainer says we are stimulating muscles. That maked me laugh because stimulating seemed an understatement compared to my image of lifting weights; the huffing, grunting, pushing oneself to the edge type lifting. But I see now stimulating muscle groups is a good word for what we are doing.

I seem to have a lot of confusion about how to move my arms and shoulders. This next week I am going to paint/draw the anatomy of the shoulder and surounding muscle and bones so I can be more informed about how to safely lift the weights. I am a visual/kinesthetic learner so this practice will be helpful.

Above is the back view of the scapula which is suppose to move around the ribs when the arm moves. Mine are quite fixed in place but I am learning the importance of moveing them.

Okay. I received my Bolex stop motion footage and it was overexposed and a bit blurry. If needed, I can still use it in the final edit of Ka-ching! I talked to somone at the film developing place and they said the film I used was not the right type for the lights. This makes sence to me. I am going to try another stop motion project...Tender Foot...and we will see how it goes.

Yesterday I saw the returned footage from Ka-ching!. It came out so great! Yes we lost the first roll but there is alot of salvagable material. The story may need to change because we do not have the first third of the story. I was able to see the footage from the other groups and everyone ran into techanical problems. We are in good shape comparativly and I think that is because the story was solid, we organized the time well and recovered once we figured out there were problems.

I am really proud of our group.
