Putrefaction

I see a larger patch of cement in the garage. Progress! The flat files in the photo are now completely empty. I threw it all away and it feels really okay. Shelve space is opening up too.
Even though I recognize the process of letting go of old art and old materials are part of the creative process there is still part of me that wants to make sure I create something each day during the100 days. So, Today I worked on an old painting from one of Andrea’s workshops last year. I think I can continue working on this one for a bit.
Today I hiked in the heat and loaded my pack with some weight to begin the training process for the trip. It was a very good call and an eye opener. I have plenty of time to take it slow and build up. If I do not over do or injure something I think this trip will happen and might not be too grueling.
I did not have time to read further about the corked bottle as a symbol but today I searched for the quality of a corked bottle in and around me. I can feel it for sure. I looked for “where raw materials are hidden and rotting (putrefaction)” It is cool to think how rotting and putrefaction are needed stages in rebirth. Today's painting has that quality I think. Maybe our country is in a stage of putrefaction.
