Portrait of Ones True Nature

Today I interviewed Evelyn Hirsch, a painter and mixed media artist. This is for my Heart of the Matter project. She is 82 and we talked together in her new studio space, set in a grove of beautiful Oak trees. It was so wonderful to be with her and create an opening for her to talk about her life, art process and what she cares about. I am struck how important and it is to just listen to people. So many people do not have the opportunity to just talk about themselves for an hour. (outside of therapy) She kept jumping out of the conversation and commented that she was talking a lot and I was really good at getting her to talk alot.
Tomorrow I am headed to Ziggy's house to try and film some stuff.
A portrait of one true nature is not easy to do but it is a good thing to think about.
The above images are today's attempts. I am just moving stuff around to get closer in. I am not really happy with any of these. They are too creepy.
