Well today I worked on Ka-ching! Things are picking up speed with the project as we prepare to meet with the teacher tomorrow and hopefully get the green light to shoot. Some people in the group are MIA and not communicating. I wish it were differnt. I am on the verge of complaining, and again I will spare all of us the negativity. Goals remain steady. I am learning the camera and haveing some fun creating. I am learing alot about how to break down a script and make a shot list. Lots of good stuff happening.
This eveing I tried to settle my busy mind by coloring in circles, see above. Jenni shared some of her new experimental gometric work with me that reminded me on Hilma af Klint's Blue Book Drawings. The Blue Book Drawings contain all of her autonomic drawings. The image above is inspired by Jenni and Hilma.
Hilma often used a planchet during her autonomic process. For the image below I too used a planchet and tried to stay in the autonomic frame of mind for as long as posible. I found this on the internet if you want to read a modern take on the method. https://heartpainter.com/blog/automatic-drawing-yoga-for-artists?srsltid=AfmBOoqzUzQ1wojTvUG-7R_mSV0doKBgQA3CLznkLWvTjIrqK6krlQ9M

The title of this post is Metition because these drawings feel like little meditations. I have an intention to resume my metition practice. The intensity of what is hapening politically and its effects on our close in community is so upsetting. I need to find clarity in someting that is not the sufering and anger. Weight lifting? Well that is another goal of mine. I remember my teacher, mentor, friend Bill Bowen shared one of his cllients had a dificult time with dissociaion and was not grounded. He prescribed weight lifting as a way to help the mind let go and be in the body. I feel this is also needed at this time in history. More present moment viseral body attention. And, really it would be fun to feel stronger.
