I ended up finding a great camera on ebay and went for it. Nick was able to shift his logical caution into open curosity and I feel grateful for his support. I am super happy with the choice. It arrived today and this particular camera is perfect for stop motion. It is a Bolex 16h reflex camera.

Today at school our group was given a Bell and Howell 16mm camera and some film to practice. We ran out of time and the teacher said I could bring the camera home and finish up the roll. So I have two cameras to run through the process. This means I will have lots of learning time after all. What a difference a week makes. Very pleased. Also, the crew is coming together and slowly getting into the overall vision.

The photos above document a drawing/painting process. I am using gouache paint mostly. I tried to look through the eyes of my younger self, the one in the crib. I wanted to see if I could find a memory of sharing a room with my brother. In the first drawing I saw my brother being picked up by my dad in the doorway of the bedroom. In the second one my mom is holding my brother. In the third I am looking through my brothers eyes as my mom picks me up in the doorway . I have more work to do with this memory process but wanted to share todays painting.
