Good Day!

Why a good day you may ask. My mood was better. I went for a beautiful hike with Andrea in an area I have never been, up by UCSC. We talked about family and art. I really needed a good conversation and exersize. My ankels did not hurt and we were out there for probably two hours. Then I did yoga and ate some homemade soup with slices of the best aged cheddar cheese.

I worked on these three images today. The first one is from the planchet drawing I began a few days ago. It has really changed alot. I cant tell if it is done. Abstracts are difficult. The second one is an experiment. I started with black paper and wanted to lighten the black before doing the planchet drawing on top. The reason I am doing this is because I want to create more depth in the finished painting. Now I will be able to use black to push back into the space. This drawing will likley be a blastocyst drawing. It looks good now but I think I can do more with it. The last drawing is a continuation of the crappy one I worked on yesterday. It is a quick unwinding of energy exersize. The image itself is messy but I appreciate the freedom to make lines and scribble. It is on a piece of clay board so things are easily wiped away and erased with water.
