Today I helped a woman from De Anza Film class with creaating her animaion characters. The two main characters are sunflowers and she wanted to create them using felt. I taught her how to make the armature and felt wool around it. We were able to make two chaacters and approximately 50 petals. I was so exausted but it felt good to share what I have learned. She brought her friend with her and they both remarked that I should teach a felting class, provide workshops, that sort of thing. Not interested in doing it but it did remind me of Maryanne, the sculpting teacher who provided small group clay workshops in her home. She made wonderful lunches for us while we worked. It was very special. Isabelle, Judy, Jenni and anothe woman attended. Jenni just shred Maryanne passaed way last week. The last two years were so dificult for her. Jenni felt her death, while sad, but the same time it was a belessing for Maryanne. I can envision having a small group here doing an art project and while they work crafting a delicious meal. Maryanne was French and she had a European way of presenting food with sparking wine. Very fun.

The artist documentary is taking off. This is going to be a good project. I love coloboraing with people and really enjoy these women. I didnt take any potos of todays felting process but Sandy sent me a photo of her un-petaled sunflower. Her dog attacked it when she got home. So sad, but its fixable. That is the photo above.
