I am have a fun time figuring out how Lenore Tawney might have made her drawings. This particular one is inspired by her "Drawing in Air VI, 1997; acrylic and linen. Collection of the Lenore G. Tawney Foundation, New York." Here is a link if you want to check it out.
I feel like I could return to this drawing again and again, refining the lines and finding the best materials to use. I am happy I will have three days to explore further. The little shape in the center was made with a spirograph. The graph paper was given to me by my friend Bill. It belonged to his dad Bruce who passed away a few years ago. It is such a beautiful color in person. The spirograph was drawn first and I see in the completed drawing on the right it is washed out and not centered. If I do this drawing again I will have to come up with a better plan for centering the circle and changing the color a bit.
