I feel very grateful for the current inspiration and motivation to work on my creative projects. So many ideas are coming through and I am not getting stuck or overwelmed. It's like being in a kayak on a pristine lake, paddling, simply enjoying the amazing ability to row and move the boat.
This morning I met with the documentary course teacher. He skillfully applied the Oreao sandwich feedback mechanism; complement, critique, complement. I left the conversation feeling really good about the work and he gave me rather big challenge/growing edge to consider. Currently in the film I do some sporadic narration. My voice is slow, careful, thoughtul , pensive and at time overly affected. Tom felt this did not synch well with the mood of the story, which is sort of whimsical and quirky. I agree with him. He suggested trying to redo the narration, with a bit more neutrality and ease. Hard to do. I gave it a try today and swung in the opposite direction where I sound like and upbeat commercial for adult dypers. I want to learn this! Maybe an acting class will give me some skills.
Inspired by Jenni's response to yesterday's little drawing I am going to try to do something similar on a larger scale. Tonight I started preparing the drawing surface. I am working on mineral paper which is very strong and can handel a lot of scrubbling and scraping. I imagine it will take four or five layers to achieve color and texture akin to the original. Above is how it looks now with the little drawing in the lower right corner.
