Today I put Suzanne’s puppet together.  At first I was concerned that using a photograph may not translate well into a puppet but turns out I really like the effect.  I think it works well because her clothes have a lot of texture.  I had to piece a lot of parts together.  I made some shoes, a left leg and a lower torso.  I also worked on a new drawing and washed it off because it felt too stiff.  The photos above show the drawing before washing and how it looks at present, in its current transitional state. Seeing it now I wish I hadn't ran it under water. Oh well. I will continue working on it tomorrow.

This afternoon we had our first stop motion class.  I am super excited.  I have already learned several new things about the Dragon Frame program that will help my future work.  The teacher has forty years animation experience and has worked on some well known films such as Caroline.  He explained some movement principals to help the animated figure not seem so robotic.  I am excited to try this stuff out.  We have a homework assignment to do stop motion with a live person.  Less into that but I can use the new techniques in the assignment.
