I worked on the drawing and stopped when it turned yellow/orange. I thought to myself, "I pushed it too far". That was going to be the title of tonights post "Pushed Too Far" but it seemed to wordy so I looked for a word to conveay the meaning. I wanted one word that communicated "messed up" or "made ugly". This rabit whole of thinking lead me to the word "monster" and eventually to "creature". Bells went off. The word "creature" made the painting okay with me. It completes the immage perfectiy. When something has the right name it can exist as it is. It can settle fully and rest.

I began to get curious about the origins of the word "creature" and was delighted to read, "The Latin root word for "creature" is creātūra, which comes from the past participle of creare, meaning "to make".

So there you go! extra sence making! And one more schrinostic thing happend around this word. I was uploading the stages of the painting so you could see the process and had dificulty finding the one with the bright pink triangle shape. I searched using it jpg number and the black and white image above showed up. The Pink triangle and the black and white have the same jpg number, 7211!!!! Check them out, one above the other. The black and white photo is a picture of my origingal creature, my person. It is the life-size stop motion puppet I made two years ago and who currently is sitting in a tight cacoon of plastic in my studio.
