Today marks the 88th day of documenting the creative process. Woohoo! The hardest challenge is crossing the hurdle of not knowing where to begin, facing a blank slate. Even though I have experienced it hundreds of times, and know I always find some entry point, it still feels daunting. Today I had the desire to make something but no clue what to do. I ended up opening up a book about Hilma af Klint and immediately was inspired by the way she divides her paper into five segments. I reworked a blue painting from a few weeks ago, dividing it into five segments and applied some blue glazes using gouache. I’m not sure if it is done. If not, tomorrow will be made easier because I have a few ideas of where to start. But, looking at it now, it feels complete, which mean tomorrow I will have to face the empty unknown again.
