Today I combined my two most recent interests, autonomic planchet drawing and small circles. I do not think it is done. Its at a point where I think it needs more but I am afraid of screwing it up. Ahhh! I know. I will go back over it with the planchet, using white pencil, so the blastocyst looks like it is sitting within the space not on top of the space.
Tonight I will work a bit more on the room stop motion. I think I am going to try to make the room look like it is floating in space by really crisping up the edges of the floor and furniture.
And I received and email from the instructor of the 16mm class. She let me know our footage for the first roll is unusable. The second and third roll may be workable. Here is the info from the lab.
Camera Roll #1 has a severe registration issue throughout. I'm afraid there is no usable footage here. Sample frame below, taken from the monitor:

Camera Roll #s 2 and 3 are unstable and have some jitter, but not the smearing/blurring of the image. You won't see it in a still photo, of course, but you can't miss it in the scans. These two can easily be fixed using digital stabilization tools. This issue could be related to the other though.
The blurry image is cool I think. Its time to get creative. I have to wait for the editor to take the first pass on putting someting together. Then, I will have the chance to work with it and maybe add the stuff I made with the Bolex. I imagine I will get the digital file returned to me on Monday. Fingers crossed, there is something in it we can use. I am so glad I do not feel upset. I really prepared myself for this posibility and here it is. I hope the rest of the crew, and the actor will not be too disappointed.
