Still not done but liking the direction. I might go into the black in the background with a bright blue...Red White and Blue. Hmmm.
The title of this post is "Change Over Time". The reason I have writting that phrase is because today I recognized change in the way I am painting and what I am painting since diving into stop motion and attening SAIC. I have grown more patient and persistent in my making. The images seem more tight and controlled, which is not my favorite to look at but it is what I seem to be doing right now. I am working on perspective and space making.
Recent paintings are different than the heart drawings for example, which have an untethered presence. However, even with the heart drawings persistance was part of the process. To make hundreds of heart drawings, ten minutes, eyes closed, daily, does take a certain amount of tenacity and determination.
I guess I am recognizing these qualities in myself for the first time. Who is this person inside that digs in so enduringly? I am greatful. I suppose it is the same part that is sticking to the plan to post 100 days of art making. Am I being boastful? Geez. I dont mean to. Its just so difernt than the way I use to make art which was all about process and intuition. There was very little planning. Its nice to grow over time and see changes. I dont think this is the end of my art growth. I hope not. I imagine I will continue to get tighter and more controled until I cant stand it any longer, then merrily swing in the opposite direction or maybe a new unimaginable direction.
Here is the room with the black walls...and some ideas for bringing in animated figures. Lastly the loaf of pumpkin bread I mad today with butter not oil. So Good!!
