Gouache and Pencil on Plaster

Another find in the garage was a bag of old cassette tapes from the 80’s and 90’s.  They were pretty beaten up and I did not have any way of playing them so I wrote down the artists names and started looking for them on I Tunes.  Today I did a deep dive into Laurie Anderson.  I was flooded with memories and the blue painting above is inspired by her, in that I just let myself stay with the process and believed this creative act is important.  I so admire the way she has her own style, a mixture of spoken word story telling, music composition; a surreal landscape of sound.  She is an artist I really admire.  She takes her creative self seriously. She is funny and incredibly talented.

The garage project has really transported me to the past and I feel grateful to be collecting so many memories.
