Headache and slight sore throat but still had a good day.

I put the camera on the copy stand.  Star!

I took some light meter readings and looked over the test footage from several moths ago to see what adjustments in F-stop and shutter opening size will produce the best shot and that is when I hit my first problem.  I do not remember if during the test shot I took the light meter reading that accommodates the shudder speed of the Bolex which is fixed at 80, or if I just followed the red needle pointing to 24.  I was confused because this afternoon the light meter pointed to F 11 and I remember getting 8.   It could be that I did the test in the winter and the sun was lower, making the room a bit darker.

These details are probably boring.  Sorry about that but in a nut shell, back when I was doing my test roll, I did some tests at night using the house lights and copy stand lights.  These tests show the meter reading is 5.6.  So, tonight when it is fully dark I will set up with the same conditions and see what reading I get.  This should show me if I was using the light meter correctly.

I ended up using a yoga strap to hoist up the camera to reduce shake when the picture is taken.  This strap and the plastic attachment Nicks friend at work made for me have done the trick. The camera hols still when the picture is taken.

I met with Tom today. The main actor in the performance quit the project because he is moving to Colorado. Tom is looking for a replacement and has pushed the timetable on the performance to be closer to January 2026. I felt some relief to have more time to complete the documentary and then dive into his project.
