I worked in the darkroom at De Anza today. It was a bit slow going. The shot above took alot of ajusting. It is a picture of a burnt tree located in Big Basin. The legs are plaster casts of my legs. I covered them with hand dyed paper from an antique children's book, tree bark and thread. For quite a while now my achlies tendons and calfs have been in alot of pain. Unconsciously I made the legs and just now recognizing the connection. Someting about

seeing them resting at the base of the enormous burnt tree trunk made it clear.

The second image is taken while standing inside a burnt out tree. If I remember correctly I saw sprigs of new growth at the very top. They are out of focus but it was hopeful to see them.
