Well the project is complete. Our movie was well received. I feel happy and free. While it played on the screen my heart beated quickly with excitement to share with the others. All of the students on some level personally understood what it took to make that thing. At the start of the animaion a little tear started to puddle in my dry eye. Its so hard to describe what sort of feeling; relief? pride?
What I love was moving across the screen. I was there for every photograph, present, taking each picture to make the image move. I was touched by the beauty of that. The simple gratitude that I let myself make it. Its just hard to explain.
Completion opens into a feeling of freedom. I looked up the word Freedom and came across a statement that caused me to ponder it awhile.
"Silence is the soul's break for freedom."- David Whyte
"We are each surrounded by an enormous silence that can be a blessing and a help to us, a silence in which the skein of reality is knitted and unraveled to be knit again, in which the perspective of work can be enlarged and enriched. Silence is like a cradle holding our endeavors and our will; a silent spaciousness sustains us in our work and at the same time connects us to larger worlds that, in the busyness of our daily struggle to achieve, we have not yet investigated. Silence is the soul's break for freedom.
The image is a quick sketch. Who knows why or what?
