The drawing on the left is by Lenore Tawney and it inspired the following two paintings. The middle photo shows brads poked into the paper with red thread woven around the brads. On the right I drew a circle. Lenore Tawney will be the artist I will explore during the three day workshop starting Friday. I stopped by the library and found a book about her titled, Mirror of the Universe. She is best known for her large sculptural weavings and she helped to develop the genre of fiber art in the early 1960’s. The book presents her weavings, sculpture and her mixed media 2D images. I love the lines she creates and the poetic and spiritual undercurrents of her work.
I hiked today, visiting with two good friends; Jennifer this morning and Annette this afternoon. I think I traveled eight miles and felt no pain in the ankles. I’m so grateful for healing and friendship and inspiration.
