I am a bit behind on my August daily art process documentation. The work has taken the form of writing and reading. My discoveries are more personal and self reflective right now which is good. The downside is it is dificult to summarize my daily experience in an authentic way without feeling overexposed. So, I have opeted to not do the blog for a few days. You understand, I am sure.
The past three days I have been encountering a turkey vulture and a butterfly. Its so strange. Just as I sit down to write my thoughts, get organized and clear, the turkey vulture shows up followed by a butterfly (a monarch I think). The first day the vulture came so close I could hear the singular flap of its wings and the sound of wind wooshing by. I think I felt a breeze on my cheek too. The next day, again, just sitting down to write, two vultures circled above, followed by the butterfly. This morning inside makeing coffee, thinking about my day, out of the corner of my eye I see a shadow dart across the deck, and the lawn. I went outside to confirm my suspicion and saw four turkey vultures circiling. Now these occurrences are likely do to a dead animal nearby but I think it is an auspicious sign as well, considering all of the inner reflection I have been doing. I researched turkey vulture and butterfly symbolism. Here is what resonated.
