This year Nick and I opted out of hosting or attending Thanksgiving gatherings and I have loved not participating in the traditional events. It feels so decadent, like we are getting away with someting huge. It reminds me of skipping Sunday mass for the first few times and realizing I had a choice. Without all the pressure, the day felt really special and calm. In the absence of "shoulds", I feel more aware of the abundance of our lives, the fact that we do have choices and so much incredible goodness.

What did we have for dinner? I made a winter salad with blood orange vinergrette, little sour dough toasts and guyer cheese. I forgot to sprinkle on the pomergranits and toasted walnuts!!!!! But it was still tasty. Fortunatly I made enough for tomorrow and will try it again with all the ingredients.

How about Art? I re-photographed the earth spinning. The animation works and looks good. Then I started tackling my computer files. Yikes!!! I am reckoning with years of video editing without a filing system. Nick is helping, which is likely to reduce the risk of something essential getting tossed out.

I do not have any new artwork to photograph for you today however while I was organizing the files I found some photos of a little maquette I made awhile back. It is a gallery installation idea. It is fun to be reminded of this work.
