Rendering Bricks

Rendering bricks is difficult as you can see. This one is not done but I may have ruined it. Its the type of thing, the more I work with it the less precise and crips it gets. The blue starts blending with the copper and black, you know how it goes. I have a few more base paintings to try it again. This is my practice painting.
I worked on a short "poem" for the exchange I am doing with Bill. This time I provide the words and he creates the accompanying video.
Here is the first draft. I have two weeks to complete the edits.
Opening the gate all I can see are two balloons and a man reaching out to stroke the surface, once, twice
Others around ask for kindness, empathy, concern and in their narrow air filled tubes of self loathing bleeds a giant terrified baby no one will reach, who needs help
She’s created a powerful chamber, a machine that rolls through the city bouncing over everyone and anyone in her path. When we reach out to pull the plug the baby cries louder and no one home to comfort
The machine rolls over the plug puller. It will take a village to dismantle the monster, the automaton the hinky-dink or whatever word describes a deadly protective reflexive mindless apparatus of hate
We will have to do it together an perhaps in the unplugging there will be some awareness, some greater consciousness of self compassion.
Yes I can visualize it now. She is in a therapy room
She’s hurting and someone is actually concerned and teaches her how to tend this terrified exiled traumatized baby.
