Imperfection

The mantra going on in my brain today is  “leave me alone."  Some part in my head is feeling harassed and critiqued and it's sharply shouting , “Leave me alone!” I even said it to out loud to Nick, I just want to be left alone.  How to create on a day when the inner critic pursues without compassion?  I want to disappear from myself.  I tried to draw the spiral and the oval. Again the measurements are not correct. I read on the internet if the measurements are just a speck off, it wont work.  They recommend using a digital calibrator to make sure I begin with a perfect square.  Now this is getting really ridiculous.  The fun turns to stress.  It made me think how nearly everything in life is probably slightly off, not exact.  The computer can produce precise geometric drawings but when I look at these images they seem to lack depth. While impressive they are somehow uninteresting.  So this must be the old, “imperfections make things interesting” sentiment.  Hmm

Above are two of the seven attempts today.

Below is a link to a time lapse of the blind drawing I made while listening to the Kronos Quartet.
