Screen Shot from Kodak 8mm Test Roll

Today was our first two hour group class meeting, followed by an individual one hour meeting with the teacher. I am feeling super good about the course and the instructor. There will be alot of support and informaion available. Suprisingly I am the only person out of seven that has film making experience. The first few classes will likley be review for me but I do not mind at all. There is always more to learn and it will be nice to have a sence of what is going on rather than be starting from scratch.

I have decided the subject for the course documentary will be about my mom. We will look at her journey of having glaucoma, the gradual loss of eyesight and the difficult decision she is in the process of making about no longer driving. This will all be surrounded by the outtakes from the various movies we have made together. I hope to show how vibrant and full of life she is.

I completed Jenni's animation and love how it turned out. Genevieve and Evelyn remain. I have 25' of film on the camera and I am thinking best not to start their sequences. I will use the remaining roll to do some tests with the lens Nick gave me for my birthday. Unlike the lens I am using now, this new lens was made for the Bolex so I am curious if it will let more or less light in when the shutter is open.

Todays cards.
