I met with Jennifer this morning and we talked about our thesis ideas. The conversation was inspiring and helpful. I ran into some difficulty with the printing process today. I could not match the color of the hearts I cut out yesterday. The new batch of black tissue paper I purchased today really bleeds a lot and the red ink could hardly register. This afternoon I went to Lenz for a different type and still had problems. I think I may have printed them twice? I will give it a try tomorrow and do another layer of red. I did get impatient and began working with some red tissue paper with black ink. It does not look as organic and I am not sure what impact they will have on the overall project. The use of two papers with one heart is probably not a good idea.
I printed out some heart drawings on the silk tissue and cut them in a heart shape for a rotation stop motion. It’s not coming together. Looks cheesy. The photo above is my first attempt.
Lastly, I fired up the boom mic. The recorder does not recognize my sd card. I do not know what I am doing wrong and hope when Nick comes home we can figure it out together.
Tomorrow is a research/writing day. We are suppose to have lots of rain and I am looking forward to the storm.
Night!
