Balance

Today, without the structure of the workshop, I found myself doing a lot of non-art making. Having a place to work on art outside of the house, away from the computer, really helps me focus. For example I worked straight through without a break on Saturday from 11 to 3.  I didn’t even stop to pee. Today I behaved the opposite.   I watched a lot of distressing news and YouTube, cleaned, food shopped, cooked, exercised, drove my mom to the store, walked and washed the dogs.  By the time I found myself in the studio it was 6pm and the light too crappy to paint. Can you hear the whining?  Both ways of moving through the day are out of balance.  Tomorrow I am going to create a daily/weekly schedule and try to bring some structure, evenness, and steadiness back into my daily routine.

This little drawing is nothing special, just a five minute dip the toe in type doodle. I do like the 3D quality of the edges though.
