I was so hoping for clarity to come today about the subject for the experimental documentary but alas, 7:46 pm and still no insight.

Earlier today I thought I had it, the Ceiba myth, but when I looked outside, off the deck, the forest was waving at me (windy today). Could this be a sign?, I wondered. Should the focus be the redwood? Well, things spun out from there. I spent most of the day thinking.

My bigest distraction came when I started researching the "Pride of Maderia". This is the plant I chose for the previous homework asignment. It is native of Madeira and grows in the cliffs above the ocean. It was transplanted here as a landscape plant. Now, in California, it is considered an invasive species but back in Maderia it has become an threatend species species due to fire danger and harvesting for landscape out of the country, Anyway I started thinking about Portugal. Hey! I am Portuguese and oh gosh, wouldn't be great to have duel citizenship in the US and Portugal? So that is where most of my time went, I must fess up. I researched what is needed to become a Portuguese citizen through heritage, looked at the cost of houses and wrote a letter to an estranged cousin who might have the full names of my Portuguese grandparents.

Nick is not thrilled with this new interest. Isabelle is excited and my mom is packing, she is ready and wants a horse too.
